from October 17, 2012: Three-Hour Democracy Now! Debate Special from Hofstra University
On the night of the second presidential debate at Hofstra University, Democracy Now! did a special broadcast from the campus, near the official debate hall. We aired the entire President Obama-Mitt Romney debate live and spoke with students and local residents about the issues they wanted to hear the candidates address.

Welcome to Democracy Now!,, The War and Peace Report. I’m Amy Goodman. We’re at Hofstra University on Long Island, the site of tonight’s second presidential debate. In just under an hour, President Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney will take the stage for their second debate. Tonight’s debate will be conducted in a town hall format with pre-approved questions from the audience.

The debate comes a day after Time magazine obtained the contract secretly negotiated by the Obama and Romney campaigns that dictates the terms of the 2012 presidential debates. The secret deal severely limits the role of tonight’s moderator, CNN’s Candy Crowley. Under the deal, Crowley is not allowed to, quote, "ask follow-up questions or comment on either the questions asked by the audience or the answers of the candidates during the debate."

Third-party candidates have also been barred from participating in tonight’s debate. Earlier this afternoon, Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein and her running mate Cheri Honkala attempted to get into Hofstra University. They were arrested for blocking the main gate of the school. Democracy Now! was there at the time of their arrest.
from October 23, 2012: Full Expanding the Debate Special on Foreign Policy Featuring Jill Stein, Rocky Anderson
Watch our full three-and-a-half-hour "Expanding the Debate" special featuring Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein and Justice Party nominee Rocky Anderson responding to the same questions posed to President Obama and Mitt Romney in the final debate of the campaign. In addition, we speak to Ai-jen Poo of the National Domestic Workers Alliance, University of San Francisco Professor Stephen Zunes, and Norman Solomon, co-founder of

Welcome to Democracy Now!,, The War and Peace Report. I’m Amy Goodman. We’re broadcasting from the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center in San Rafael, California. We are less than 30 minutes from the final presidential debate of the 2012 race. At 9:00 p.m. Eastern, President Obama and his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, face off in debate, moderated by Bob Schieffer of CBS News in Boca Raton, Florida, at Lynn University. Once again, third-party candidates have been barred from participating. Tonight we expand the debate by giving Green Party presidential nominee Jill Stein and Justice Party nominee Rocky Anderson a chance to respond to the same questions put to the major-party candidates in real time. Beginning at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, we’ll air the entire Obama-Romney debate, pausing the video for responses from Stein and Anderson. Libertarian Party nominee Gary Johnson declined our invitation to participate.

Re: "Sorry couldn't resist." -- Trust me, I still have a huge "axe to grind" with Amy and her Democracy Now staff. Village Idiots like me can't resist. I'm just expanding the debate.

amy_goodman_apple_devices.jpgI called Democracy Now by phone several months ago and left a long voice message explaining this situation to them, from a broadcasting and production angle. I emailed them the same points. I explained to them that their Democracy Now co-host, Juan González, would never allow himself to be photographed, televised, heard, or even seen in public using one of these Apple devices. Juan has also been a columnist for the New York Daily News since 1987. His reputation to himself is invaluable to himself. He has dignity and class.

We are not discussing a staffing problem at Democracy Now, or a technical problem, where Amy relies on iPads and iPhones to broadcast her program. The messages I left them discussed these issues thoroughly. This is a tactical decision made by Amy Goodman to flaunt these devices in front of her cameras for everyone to see. Democracy Now is using them to produce their flagship program. This extremely disgusting behavior Amy! These devices are built by Chinese slave laborers living in concentration camps. This is a huge blow to your credibility. How could you allow yourself to be seen using your iPad during almost every broadcast this year, even after I contacted your staff by phone and email?

Amy, I urge you, please include a Public Disclaimer about this. I believe you most likely have a physical impairment (or several of them), and that's why you're using the iPad on camera. Several times I've noticed you holding the damned thing up to your face on camera. Trust me, we all have impairments at our age. I am urging you to please, publicly excuse yourself for being a gigantic hypocrite. If you have health problems, just say so. Thank you.

Amy Goodman, her staff, and The Democracy Now programs have many thousands of their programs archived here at The Archive.

Why am I the Village Idiot in-Chief? Because I'm just a dumb-ass moron who refuses to accept what is being done to us. How in the fuck can citizens and sheeple in the U.S.A. just sit there and accept the status quo, without seriously objecting? I'll never get it. Like I said, I'm going proudly to my grave with my pride, dignity, my Grateful Dead values, and my Occupy Wall Street values. Blow Me!

Here's your next PSA - Public Sheeple Announcement - for The 2012 Elections: Above you see the chart showing millions of manufacturing jobs that myself, Bear, Jer, GD, Alembic, and Ampex were built from. Below you can see the chart for The Sheeple Future of the 21st Century. Read my testimony about jobs in America. The USA's strongest future job growth right now is in Fast Food Services. What are the benefits? Very high morbid-obesity rates, unhealthy population, Frankenfood made with Monsanto's GMO crops using fossil-fuel-based pesticides and fertilizers, polluting factory farms, and fuel-intensive food processing and distribution.

What are the job benefits? We have millions more fast food jobs that pay minimum wages.
